Tulla

Tulla: come (Finnish); romp (Norwegian); hillock (Gaelic); pinch (Swedish)

After performing in numerous configurations, these musicians with passions for Scandinavian folk music have joined forces in a new band called Tulla. Inspired by ancient and modern world music, Tulla embraces the stirring melodies of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Ireland and other lands. With guitar, fiddles, bass, recorder, pump organ, jaw harp, pennywhistle, Celtic harp, piano, vocals, and the occasional pipe organ, the band honors traditional sources while exploring creative interpretations. True to its name, Tulla represents multiple Euro-cultures coming together for a lively romp in the rugged hills of northeast Iowa. Pinch yourself. You're there. Tulla!
